Did you know that you could make a difference in the lives of people around the world? Here are some opportunities:

The Great Thanksgiving Toy Caper: This is a toy collection to provide new toys for giving to children in the City Vision focus cities for Christmas this year. How about asking your children’s leader if your church can set up a collection site for other boys and girls and moms and dads to collect toys for this project? You could be the leader of the project!

YWEA is the annual missions project to raise money for a designated country. This year, we are raising money for Puerto Rico. We will be ‘DISCOVERING THE HIDDEN TREASURES OF PUERTO RICO’. Have you ever spoken Spanish? Hola! We want to bless the children on this island in the Caribbean. We’ll be sharing some information about Puerto Rico right here on the website in the near future. In March, we are designating a special Children’s YWEA Sunday. There is an activity book, savings banks, and lots of other things which will help you to know about this year’s ministry project. And, we’ll be having a YWEA Hall of Fame right here on the website. For every children’s ministry group who raises $400.00 or more, you can have your group picture place on the Hall of Fame page! For every child who raises $200.00 or more, you can have your picture placed on the Hall of Fame page!

Alfa and Omega orphanage is in Poza Rica, Mexico. There are 38 children who live there. Many have been abandoned by their parents and were found living under a bridge. Aren’t you thankful for your home where you live? And aren’t you thankful for your mom and dad who care for you? This December, children’s workers and sponsors will be going to the orphanage to share Christmas gifts with the children. If you would like to help us purchase the gifts, that would be great! Or, if your children’s group would like to sponsor one of the children by giving $30.00 per month, that would be excellent! It’s really cool to help others and God blesses us! Just e-mail us for more information at ycessce@extremegen.org. In June 2004, we’ll be taking our annual children’s ministry STEP trip to visit the children. Children, ages 10-12 yrs., as well as children’s ministry workers, are invited!

City Vision is an emphasis to reach people in big cities in America. Each year, we emphasize certain cities and plan events to share Jesus with the people in those cities. As a child, you can be involved. First of all, pray for the people in the big cities. Then, you can participate in the Great Thanksgiving Toy Caper. Next summer, we will be taking a children’s missions trip to Washington, DC to share Christ with boys and girls in our nation’s capitol. We’ll also do a little sightseeing, as well.
